These test
services span the spectrum from single user functional verification
to the simulation of thousands of users stressing the application.
Where client provided test lab facilities are available, trained QA engineers can work through multiple test scenarios and observe how
the application will perform under specific circumstances. As a
result, potential "show stoppers" and performance issues
are addressed early in an application's deployment schedule.
Test
packages are custom developed to meet the specific needs of each
client application. These services can be engaged in a variety of
ways: 1) As compliments to other services to create a total solution
package, 2) In lock-step with the application development process,
or 3) As individual services on third-party developed
applications or architecture solutions.
It is
important to note that some test components have dependencies on
others or may be a required "input" to another service.
(i.e., Functional test cases are a necessary input to Compatibility,
Stress/Load and Performance test services.) If certain components
are excluded from a plan, the consequence may be additional time and
cost in preparation of the service. When a robust, end-to-end
Functional Test is planned and executed, there is a reuse value of
these elements that reduce the time and cost of successive test
phases. Functional testing creates a strong foundation for all other
services.
